Companion Rescue:

Prerequisite: AST1, AST2 or American equivalent.

$800/per course

plus GST (5%)

One-day course, max. 6 people

AST1+:

Prerequisite: Ability to confidently downhill ski or snowboard Blue squares in marginal conditions, and ski tour uphill for minimum of 1-2 hours.

$350/per person

plus GST (5%)

Avalanche Skills Training Level 1+ is a two day course at Whistler Blackcomb with max. 6 people. AST1+ provides an online course, an evening before group Zoom call and the 'Avalanche Skills Training Handbook' by Avalanche Canada. Avi equipment rental is available (transceiver, shovel, probe) and ski touring equipment or splitboard is required.

Managing Avalanche Terrain:

Prerequisite: AST1 or AST1+ and ability to confidently downhill ski or snowboard Black Diamonds in marginal conditions, and ski tour uphill for minimum of 2-3 hours.

$220/per person

plus GST (5%)

MAT is a one day mountain based course  and expands on the terrain management skills taught in AST 1, which focuses only on Simple terrain. With MAT, we will explore and make route plans for Challenging terrain. Our day in the field will practice putting this Route Plan into play, mitigate the risk by honing your terrain evaluation skills, manage the Avalanche terrain, and hopefully lots of skiing!

Avalanche Equipment Rentals:

Mammut equipment is available to rent and can be added on to your booking.

$25/per day

plus GST (5%)

  • Barryvox Transceiver
  • Probe 280cm Speed Lock
  • Alugator Shovel
  • $10 add-on for Nirvana Ski Touring backpack (35 litres)


+ Equipment is provided by Mammut.
